...falls mainly on the author. Since Palace of the Fountains is out today, here are a few pics from my time doing a bit of location research in León, northern Spain. I've included a view (in the rain) of the splendid cathedral, the turrets of Gaudí's 'Casa Botines' (a bank), three peacocks from a city park, two of them snoozing. And a menu. And a toyshop. And some trees in blossom. Ah, memories!

Oh, Lindsay, how beautiful. Thanks for sharing your pics and your memories. I would love to have visited Spain. And, the peacocks are wonderful.
Many thanks, Savanna! I love all the med countries - Greece, Spain, Italy. I'd love to visit the countires all around the Med.
I'd also love to visit the USA!
Do you have wild turkeys close to where you live? I ask because I recently saw a wonderful programme about them on the BBC.
Lindsay, when I first moved to the tame prairie I did see the wild turkeys. I loved it because they are so impressive in carriage, and their looks. Nothing like the domesticated breeds. I even had a hen in the yard once, who stayed for a couple of hours. However, recently, I haven't seen any! One of their wooded habitats was partially cleared. It's about two miles from us. I think they're still around. At least, I hope so. And, I wish they'd make an appearance here, now and then. Although, there are coyotes who would love a turkey dinner.
I did see my first mule deer a couple of days ago. A young stag. Normally, I only see the white tail deer.
I would loved to have been a world traveler once upon a time. I wanted to visit your neck of the woods, and the land of my ancestors, especially Ireland and Scotland.
And, for so long, I've wanted to sail between the Greek Islands, plus vacation on them. Ever since I learned about the boating cruises, it's been a passion. Of course, I've so wanted to experience Spain and the other Mediterranean countries, as well.
I love this world, and all it has to offer as far as different cultures, different lands, different histories... but, not to be.
My beloved American has absolutely fabulous places to visit and experience. You could spend lifetime and never see and learn about it all. I treasure all the traveling I have been able to do in the past.
However, with the total degradation of rights and freedoms, it's not the place to visit anymore, unless you're super rich, and can pay/bribe your way to wherever you want to go. The airport TSA are brutal, and many foreigners no longer come to vacation here for that very reason [there have been polls done on this]. I certainly wouldn't if I were them.
